The national lichen monitoring program was established in 1999 and has been part of the Network Economic Monitoring since 2001. The aim is to monitor the most endangered species on the Red List on stony substrates, heathlands and drift sands. Since the autumn of 2004, repeated monitoring has been carried out on research plots visited 5 years earlier.
